Historic painting of the company site in Gauting, Bavaria
In 1909, Dietl Feinmechanik was founded by watchmaker Georg Dietl, Senior. An order from Siemens to manufacture telephone gearing mechanisms ushered in the first crucial steps to automation. The small family business grew rapidly, transforming into a precision engineering enterprise. The two sons, Georg and Karl Dietl, followed their father’s footsteps, taking over the company in 1938 after successfully completing their master’s certificates.
During the post-war years the company steadily expanded, such that, in 1952 a new company site with about 1000 square meters became necessary. Through the acquisition of new machinery for virtually every area of precision machining, the foundation was built for a complete, "one-stop-shop" mechanical production.
After the death of their father in 1988, the two sons, Helmuth and Klaus Dietl, took over the management. After the death of Klaus Dietl, Helmut Dietl took over the sole management of the company.
In the year 2000, the course was set for the next generation: the two daughters Sabine Stadler and Heidrun Dietl entered the enterprise. With the foundation of the Dietl Verwaltungs GmbH and the change in the corporate form to Dietl Feinmechanik GmbH & Co. KG, Sabine Stadler and Heidrun Dietl formally joined the already experienced company management.
