AT DIETL, WE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH ALMOST EVERY MATERIAL
In general, we are able to process all machinable materials. We will be pleased to advise you on the best choice of material for your intended use. Our understanding of the various properties of different materials allows us to give you qualified advice specifically tailored to your demands.
MORE POSSIBILITIES THAN YOU MIGHT IMAGINE
Benefit from our know-how and experience! We consider our advice as a critical part of our job-related services. From the very first steps of any project, we share our accumulated expertise in materials and surface treatment to ensure that the perfect concept for your gear is realized.
Our expertise in material and machining allows us to help our clients meet steadily increasing demands, for instance in the field of lightweight construction. With the right surface treatments, product characteristics can be further optimized. Our century of experience is critical to the high quality and broad spectrum of treatments that we can offer our clients.
NONFERROUS METALS
Nonferrous metals include all such metals which do not contain iron and which cannot be labeled as precious metals. Examples are cobalt, copper, nickel, tin, or zinc. Depending on the chosen alloy, nonferrous metals are particularly well-suited for machining, yet offer high-quality product characteristics.
STAINLESS STEEL
Both steel with a high degree of purity and alloyed steels are counted among the stainless steels. At Dietl Feinmechanik, we process both types.
MACHINING STEEL
Steel optimized for a better machinability is called machining steel. For this purpose, steel is alloyed with phosphorus and/or sulfur.
TITANIUM
The advantage of titanium is its combination of low weight and density together with its high level of corrosion resistance. Its high level of reactivity is counteracted by appropriate alloys.
ALUMINUM
Aluminum is a popular material, particularly due to its low weight. Only plastics can produce gears of lower weight, but plastics may be ruled out due to other requirements.
PLASTICS
Plastic gears are increasingly replacing "classic" gears. Depending on the chosen material, plastic gears may be particularly corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant, self-lubricating, noiseless and, with respect to lightweight-production, an interesting alternative to aluminum. The outstanding quality we can achieve by machining high-quality plastics cannot be matched by other production methods such as injection molding.
